Operational Resilience

Operational Resilience is all about understanding strategically which of your business services (products and services) need to be available at all times, then calculating your maximum impact tolerances for them assuming that serious events could degrade, suspend, or reduce the demand for them, and then proactively implementing and maintaining appropriate ‘toughening’ strategies for your organisation’s continued survival and momentum forward.

At the core of Operational Resilience is the identification of critical business services and the determination of maximum impact tolerances for these services. As part of our services, we collaborate with executive management teams and their direct line reports to determine these tolerances against potential impacts, such as harm to consumers, financial viability, and people safety.

To ensure that the organisation is prepared to withstand potential disruptions, we develop and facilitate scenario-based exercises. These exercises stress-test operational platforms and environments, as well as other resources, to identify vulnerabilities. We also conduct information systems penetration testing and supply chain/3rd party failure simulations to evaluate the organisation’s ability to respond to and recover from different types of incidents.

Following the identification of vulnerabilities, we work with the teams responsible for implementing improvements to address these issues. Additionally, we lead incident response and Business Continuity development projects to ensure that the organisation’s maximum impact tolerances are not breached in the future.
